EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE EUCHARISTIC MINISTRY?

An extraordinary Minister of Communion helps distribute communion at Mass and also may take communion to the shut-ins, sick and dying.

WHAT DO MEMBERS DO?

  • Assist the priest in distribution of the consecrated bread and wine which has become the Body and
    Blood of the Risen Christ
  • Bring the Offertory gifts of water, wine and unconsecrated hosts to the Table of the Eucharist
  • May bring the sacrament to those who are sick or dying or homebound.
  • Wash sacramental vessels after Mass.
  • TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.

TIME REQUIRED

Usually twice a month at the Mass of your choice. Availability to serve during important church feasts, funerals and weddings etc. is helpful.
