Children's Liturgy

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE CHILDREN'S LITURGY MINISTRY?

Leaders gather the children after the Opening Prayer and explain the readings of the day in a way they can comprehend in order to gradually lead them to full, conscious, and active participation in the Sunday liturgical assembly.

WHAT DO TEAM MEMBERS DO?

The leaders explain the Gospel to children through a variety of activities, using prepared lessons and activities and their own faith knowledge and experience. They participate in various children's activities within the church throughout the year (e.g. Children's Christmas Party).

ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

  • Enjoy working with young children
  • Be patient, flexible and organized

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matt. 181-3
